It plays a huge role in hair protection as it seals the cuticles and prevents damage from heating devices, harmful UV rays of the sun and pollution. How often should I conditioner my hair?

Shampoo and conditioner generally go hand-in-hand. Therefore, you should apply conditioner every time you shampoo your hair. When we shampoo our hair, we are opening the hair cuticles to remove dirt and oil. Conditioner is then used to repair, nourish, and lock all the nutrients back into the hair, and then close the hair cuticles again. Before applying conditioner, a good tip is to squeeze out all the excess water. This will allow the conditioner, such as SO Magic Conditioner, to penetrate the hair more easily and effectively. Providing your hair with more strengthen smoothness and shine.

Does conditioner cause greasy hair?

No, RPR and Salon Only conditioners do not cause greasy hair. However, if you are not using salon quality conditioners, applying your conditioner incorrectly, or not washing it out properly, overtime your hair could feel limp, greasy, or oily.

Therefore, it is highly recommended you always use professional quality conditioners, such as RPR Rejuvenate My Hair Conditioner or SO Essential Conditioner each time you shampoo your hair. These salon quality conditioners have been designed to smooth, soften, detangle, and condition your hair, making it easier to manage daily. They are non-greasy, lightweight, and suitable for all hair types.

What is a deep conditioner for hair?

A deep conditioner generally goes one step further to a normal conditioner, to deeply penetrate the hairs cortex, and repair damage from the inside out. They are often referred to as hair masks and are generally thicker in nature, focusing on long-term hair health.

Deep conditioners such as the RPR Charcoal Smoothing Treatment or RPR Repair My Hair Keratin Mask are designed to intensely nourish, smooth and repair hair, while also restoring gloss, vitality, and reducing hair breakage. They are perfect for dry, damaged, frizzy, or coloured hair. Dry scalps will be hydrated, and balanced.

Can conditioner clean your hair?

Most conditioners do contain ingredients that could somewhat clean your hair; however, they have not been specifically designed for this purpose.

Using a conditioner instead of a shampoo could cause oil and products to build-up on your hair and scalp. This is because they have not been formulated to remove all dirt and oil from your hair. Therefore, we would always recommend shampooing your hair first with a professional salon range such as RPR or Salon Only, followed by a salon grade conditioner. This will ensure your hair is cleanse and nourished to the highest standard.
